Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American Actor, best known as a star of the well-known television series Law & Order Special Victims Unit. Since his college days Meloni had a keen interest in acting. He then studied at his home institution, the University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active in both films and television, but it was his character on the smaller screen that brought him fame and a large fan following. He can play two characters, one from the perspective of the police and the other. This is what makes him so popular. In his very first TV project, he played an infamous serial killer. Then, he played the role of an NYPD investigator. The actor has been nominated several times for prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his tiny screen performances. One of his most striking facial traits is believed to be the sharp blue eyes which have allowed him to portray characters who are rough and charismatic. The year 2006 was the last time he was featured in the People's magazine's Sexiest Men Alive list.
